About

Churches United Pantry, aka CUP, was started in 2001 by several individuals who saw a need to provide food for Lima’s hungry neighbors.  We started in a small space on East Wayne Street and moved to our current location at 129 S. Pierce Street.  CUP’s foundation is 10 Lima churches who support us with volunteers and finances to purchase food for the pantry. Individuals and organizations also contribute to our pantry.

We are currently serving close to 2,000 Lima residents each month in the pantry.  The only qualification to receive our services is to fall within the financial guidelines of the USDA, have a picture ID and proof of residence.  Our clients may visit the pantry once every 30 days.  During late July through the end of September we host fresh produce days every Thursday, which may be attended each week.  We offer a variety of fresh seasonal produce. We serve 500-700 individuals each week at our produce day.

CUP is excited to have a presence on Face Book and spread the word about our mission.  For more information on how you can help, contact us at the link above.
